Year of Firsts

Everyday I think about writing on here and somehow the time just slips by and I don’t get it done. I had good intentions I promise!

Anyways, as the new year has begun it made me think of this last year that I had and all of the ‘FIRSTS’ that I had experienced in 2011.
I’ve been brainstorming for a while and then my friend blogged her ‘firsts’ –like 2 days ago!
 I swear Ashley, I wasn’t copying you-but I guess great minds think alike :)
{Loved your blog by the way}

This last year started a bit rocky with the virtual loss of someone special in my life and it ended with the loss of another special lady in my life but in the middle there were some great things that happened and those are the things that I want to remember about 2011!!!!
In any case, I’ll share some of my firsts with you:

FIRST full year of marriage-to seriously the most amazing person in the world- I know we all have the most amazing person in the world-So let me qualify that statement-he is PERFECT for ME in every way and sometimes I’m not quite sure how I ended up with such a catch! I love him more than I thought I could ever love someone.

FIRST baby! And with that comes all the FIRSTS of pregnancy-some more joyous than others, but overall I think I was ridiculously blessed in the ease of the entire process. After THAT comes all the FIRSTS of ‘babyhood’- FIRST dirty NAPPY to change, FIRST smile, FIRST coo’s, FIRST spitups….I will clearly never see the first of those again! FIRST bath, FIRST time in her cot, FIRST nights of less sleep, FIRST person to completely depend on me-I don’t ever want her to depend on anyone else, so we are crossing our fingers that their will be no FIRST date! ha ha just kidding.

FIRST online class to ultimately reach my FIRST degree.

FIRST semester managing University off campus girls housing- I won’t get into all the first’s that brings!!! ha ha

FIRST Christmas with my family as a married mommy in Canada, FIRST stamp in Kyle's passport-Also the FIRST Christmas I have spent with my family since 2006.

FIRST time dealing with American Immigration and ultimately my FIRST year of being an American resident.

 FIRST time camping EVER-in southern Utah which was soooo beautiful!

FIRST full American Football season-no offence but that also brought the FIRST time I didn't want to watch live sports on TV. I'm getting into it, don't worry... it will come with time I'm sure.

FIRST time in Las Vegas – I love love loved it there.

FIRST time on pinterest! Holy cow it is awesome-and after that discovery came lots of  FIRSTS in the kitchen (cooking), FIRSTS on the sewing machine (making pretty little ditties),  FIRSTS off the sewing machine (making hair bows, bracelets and other things from scrap fabrics I have) and FIRST time ever staying on the computer a little longer than I should-preparing my next creative plan.

Lastly, my FIRST blog!!! How exciting!

I know there have been plenty of other FIRSTS, but I’m fondly looking forward to a couple second’s, third’s and forth’s of life for me as a Slaughter!
